High-Precision Machine Vision Inspection System
A desktop application that uses an industrial camera to automatically measure mechanical parts with sub-millimeter accuracy — delivering Keyence-level precision at a fraction of the cost.

The Challenge
A manufacturing facility needed to inspect CNC-machined parts and electronic components with sub-millimeter tolerance verification. Premium measurement systems like Keyence cost $50K+ per station. They needed a software solution that could pair with standard industrial cameras and deliver the same accuracy at a fraction of the price.
Our Approach
We developed a native Windows application using MFC and C++ for maximum performance. The system captures high-resolution images from an industrial camera, performs sub-pixel calibration, then uses edge detection and feature extraction algorithms to measure dimensions, angles, and tolerances in real time with visual overlay feedback.
The Results
Sub-millimeter automated measurement of any part type
Real-time visual overlay showing dimensions and tolerances
Camera calibration for consistent accuracy across sessions
Instant pass/fail tolerance validation
Eliminated manual measurement bottlenecks
Deployed across multiple inspection stations
